Yes. Once you have a job offer and a Canadian work permit, you can come to live and work in Canada. The Canadian government is continuing to process immigration files during COVID-19. Many employers in our network are inviting new international employees to start work remotely while their paperwork is processed.

You’ll work with your employer’s team, even if you’re working for GTA under contract to your employer. Because of COVID-19, some teams are working entirely remotely, while others are in-office or in-office a few days per week. You and your employer will decide whether you work in the office or work remotely.

Performance matters more to us than pedigree — we’re looking for the best coders rather than the most educated applicants — which is why we ask job seekers to demonstrate their skills. We’re always looking for senior talent with at least five years of relevant work experience (and it helps to have education in the same domain). 1. Apply: Search jobs, find an opportunity that’s a good skill match and workplace culture fit, and complete your application.
2. Demonstrate:Once you apply, you’ll receive an email from GTA inviting you to complete an online challenge to demonstrate your technical skills relevant to the job requirements. We have appropriate members of our tech team, including software developers, data scientists, dev ops, etc., review your results for quality, style and approach to ensure you are a great fit for the role, the work environment and the company itself.
3. Resume prep if you’re selected to be put forward for a role, our team will confirm your skillset and work with you on preparing your resume. We’ll suggest options to improve your resume for appeal and general profile, while keeping it accurate and targeted.
4. Employer introduction:If you rank high on the coding test and have the other skills and qualities required for the job, your application is presented to suitable employers.
5. Invitation to interview: If an employer is interested in your application, you’ll get an email inviting you to a job interview with that employer.
6. Interview preparation:Get coaching from GTA on interview skills and strategies so that you’re prepared to meet your potential employer.
7. Interview Meet your potential employer (usually by video chat) to discuss your goals and their needs, and whether or not the role is a good fit for you.
8. Follow-up interview: If the first interview goes well, many (but not all) employers will request one or more follow-up interviews. GTA will help you schedule and prepare for these interviews, which will most likely focus on your technical skills.
9. Job offer:If the employer thinks you’re a good fit for their team, you’ll receive an official job offer through GTA. With GTA’s support, you and your employer will agree on a salary. If you’re happy with the terms, you’ll accept the job offer. Congratulations!
10. Work permit:With advice and practical support from GTA, you’ll complete and submit an application for a Canadian work permit.
11. Move to Canada:Now that you have a job in Canada, GTA will help you and your family immigrate and relocate, providing local information, optional housing and community events.
12. Onboarding:Start your new job in Canada! We’ll help you settle in and adjust to the norms of your Canadian workplace, so that you can focus on delivering excellence in your role.
